Default Damn you Bubba!!!!!

You know, every time I walk out in the garage I just have to smile at the beauty of my '72 coupe looking back at me. I love driving her, although I haven't been too agressive for fear of component failures due to her old age.

Today I started ripping out the dash to replace some burnt out bulbs and try and track down my A/C blower motor problem. Low and behold! Theres at least 6 electrical connections that are disconnected. Some of them are obvious, like the clock and cigarette lighter but others are a mystery as of now. So I climbed around under the hood and found 3 more broken/disconnected electrical connections!!! Holy Crap Bubba!! You done me baaaad this time.

Anyways, just another day in the life of another Bubba'd up corvette owner.

At least it gives me something to do lol

Of all the things Bubba likes to work on he likes things electrical the best.!!!
He feels he does his BEST work in the dark.

Hahahaha, Bubba-ism is taking over the world. My personal Bubba thought it was a great idea to remove the neutral safety switch.

one of my favorites is the way he cobled in a mallory ignition box to bypass the old stock coil. Now I have to rip the whole ignition to try and figure it out lol

Default bubbafied as well

I bought all new harness from nose to tail on mine. Haven't put them in yet, but because he got into things pretty heavy. I would not be surprised if my car won't start after I replace the wiring. Too much crap has been wired around including the neutral switch. When I put the car on the lift I see wires hanging down and going nowhere. It's amazing anything works at all. Blower motor has only one speed, and there is some switch for remote starting out on the firewall that has completely gone around. I think it was for the garage mechanic to use for remote start or something. If some of the things that the harness plugs into normally are gone it will be amazing if it works.

I may be your personal bubba. When I got my '75, it had a "kill" switch in the middle compartment behind the seat. The car would not start unless the switch was in the "on" position. I removed it. Are you saying that was "factory"?

Get a new engine wiring harness. They're easy to install in a '72 if you pull out the left eggcrate and worth the peace of mind.

I prefer to think of all my changes as "racing mods". No spare tire? Racing mod. Headlights and vent door hoses are disconnected? Racing mod. Missing the glove box inserts? Racing mod. Speedo cable disconnected? You betcha!

yeah, this is definately on my list once I sell the '92 and free up some money. I'd rather know it was done right than try and cobble it all back to together.

Bubba and his cloned minions creep into the garage or shop late at night and lay hands on Harley Earls, Zora Arkus Duntovs, and Larry Shinodas favorite designs because the dumb **** really believes he's smarter than those guys.

What a maroon.

In peeling back the carpet to repair some of his work on the pass side floorboard and heater core area, i found the s.o.b. kludged together the oil pressure connection behind the dash and ... yup, you know what I'm about to say.

Now I know why the radio doesn't work either (what did Newton say about discovering gravity?)

Like Ralph Kramden used to threaten his wife, "To the MOON, Alice!! To the MOON!"

If I ever ....

on the no time thing.... im being sent to hawaii by the army, and had less than a few days left with tools, and i needed to pass inspection quick.. so the horn and windshield fluid have new horn buttons attached to the bottom of the dash pad. i also wanted to be able to use more than my cd player, so the antenna is extended under the center console. i also left a lot of screws out of the interior stuff, mostly cause the guy i bought the car didnt send them.. and my fuse block is sorta rusted out, so i have to "rig" the fuse that goes to my blinkers.. i actually have to use my foot to put it back in place so my blinkers keep working from time to time.
anyways, tools are on the way to hawaii, and i have to leave my vette in texas for the time in there. while im there though, i expect to have the horn rewired, fuse block fixed, new wiper switch installed... and all other bubbas corrected to at least be less bubba'd. dont have the money to throw into it right now for only seeing it for 2 months in the next two years.
on the other side though, i dont expect to be selling this car anytime soon

Sorry, dude, but you are a Bubba. You are just in denial. Don't feel too bad, I'm one too, but I'm working on it. That's right, my name is Scott, and I'm a Bubba. I'm in a 12 step program, right now I'm at the point where I have to go around and make amends to all the people who's stuff I Bubba'd in the past. If you are a Bubba, and want to change, here are the 12 steps to recovery. But first, you have to admit to yourself that you are a Bubba.

1. Admit that you are powerless over being a Bubba—that your mechanical ability has become unmanageable, Bubba.
2. You must believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity, Bubba.
3. Make a decision to turn your will and your mechaninal ability over to the care of God as you understand Him, Bubba.
4. Make a searching and fearless moral inventory of yourself, and your mechanical ability, Bubba.
5. Admit to God, to yourself, and to another human being the exact nature of your wrongs, Bubba.
6. Be entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character, Bubba
7. Humbly ask Him to remove your shortcomings as a mechanic, Bubba.
8. Bubba, make a list of all persons you have harmed by bubba-ing up there stuff, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others, Bubba.
10. Continue to take personal inventory and when you are wrong promptly admit it, Bubba.
11. Seek through prayer and meditation to improve your conscious contact with God as you understand Him, praying only for knowledge of His Will for us and the power to carry that out, Bubba.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, try to carry this message to other Bubbas, and to practice these principles whenever you are working on anything mechanical, Bubba.
