Default I need some help identifying...

what kit is on this car??

The car hasn't seen a road since about 1989, and is in disgusting condition. Some guy bought it sight-unseen, and sent it to the body shop next to my boyfriends shop. The body guy really doesn't want to touch it. I've looked all through google, trying to find out what the hell it is... but I've come up with similar looking widebody kits, but none that look like this.

Can anyone here tell me ANYTHING about this kit? There's also about 5 layers of paint on the car. I tried to get a decent picture of the peeling so you can see what I'm talking about. It has a push-button door release, and dual side-pipe exhaust, with color-matched interior (which would actually look really nice if it wasn't so ratty.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,
Emilie

Looks like the old Eckler's wide body kit.

it's similar, but not the same.

it has slatted vents on the front fenders, and a completely different rear end.

Is the Greenwood Widebody kit the same as the Eckler's Widebody kit?

they're similar, I think.

I looked at the greenwood one too, and it's not the same

The only one I've come across that resembles it, is the SCCA/IMSA widebody kit. This looks like a watered down version of that kit... but I have not been able to find any information, or other cars, with this kit on them Google has been no help.

Considering it's all fiberglass and very easy to modify and manipulate...it's very possible that it is an SCCA/IMSA kit, but with some modifications that make it unique.

The IMSA looks wide, and much more pronounced. This seems like a more simplified, sleek version. It has different venting, and slightly different lines. But very similar in the design. It's quite frustrating trying to find out what it is. LOL

It's an Ecklers turbo II/ greenwood turbo, all have those slots (it's not the same as the can am), it's an ecklers hood and rear spoiler too. All copies of greenwood stuff

http://www.greenwoodcorvettes.com/StreetTurbo.html

If you have the ecklers fiberglass book, the kit is in there even, with installation instructions, photos and all.

The greenwood race kit is about double as wide as the eckler sstuff and the parts on the greenwood street cars.

Here's another one:
http://www.dreamcarclassicsonline.co...&allphotos=L20

That's supposedly a greenwood kit, the things that car does have going for it is the fact that it does have the fabricated greenwood 5 link coil over rear suspension (the same as in the design drawings on the greenwood site I linked) and what looks to be an original Grenwood turbo boost gauge. It also seems to have the original greenwood badged but there's no proof it's an actual greenwood car, the parts were available over the counter. Take a pic of the rear suspension on the yellow one, if it has trailing arms it's not the real thing for certain.
