i have a 1981 corvette and i want to put a more resent drive lien in my car what year of corevtte will fit in the car ??????
i woul like to put a 2000 drive engien and trainy in but i dont know if it will fit, if anyone has any idea's ,irealy need some help here thank you .
As far as a stronger driveline, no other earlier year will be a direct bolt-in. 80-82 have aluminum differentials and the driveshaft is a bit shorter. If you need stronger, you will have to have it made. Why do you need stronger?

There is an LS conversion thread at the top of C3 Tech, called a 'sticky' and it is a very long thread with lots of pics and such.
The 2000 LS and transmission can be installed with the right selection of parts and a good sized budget.
thank you for getting back to me so soon ,i was thinking more down the lines of better gas mileage. i want to drive the car to car shows in the USA but it will cost a lot to drive the car.
If you are just looking for better mileage all you have to do is install an overdrive transmission. You will improve your mileage considerably without having to go through the expense of an engine and differential swap. There are a number of threads on overdrive transmission installs.
