p.s. i know you probably dont care about this tidbit, but the term knock on wood originated in (ireland?). you knocked on wood to appease the leprechauns
and the term cockpit.. it was originally a **** fighting pit, which of course was bloody and gruesome and such. well pilots eventually took over the phrase and not its called a **** pit.
With the economic meltdown that is going on I'm sure companies are just pulling the plug on any new hires until things settle down. Not a great time to be looking for work but maybe you should take any job you can find for now and keep looking for architecture work. If you want something part-to-full time look up a company called RGIS. They do inventories of stores. Pretty simple concept - they send in a team of people to count every item in say, a Home Depot. I worked for them for a while in 2002 after the technology crash. You work a lot of wierd hours, like 10 PM to 2 AM but it at least keeps some cash flowing.
well..... so far nothing...... i think the recruiter was pulling my leg.....grrrrr.
at this rate...... i'm close to giving up the architecture profession and everything else.... seriously......
I have seen your posts for a long time and I know that you have had a never-ending string of bad luck in one form or another. There are counseling services available (probably free through Social Services) that can help you get through any issues that you are dealing with. The 'giving up ...everything else' phrase bothers me a bit. Make a phone call.... seriously.
If you can, take a trip out to Cali,, change your whole perspective man. Sometimes you just need a change of pace or location to reset your priorities.
