Garage Door Help
This morning the garage door opener started acting up. It will start moving on its own. It stops in between full up and full down with no rhyme or reason. I can see the green eye on the back of the opener is rapidly blinking. Any help is appreciated. This is keeping me from getting my vette out of the garage on such a fine day.
It is a Sears Model No.139.53635SRT. It is 14 years old so it may just be time.
Pull the emergency release and drive over to Sears/Home Depot/Lowes and buy a new one. I think that after 14 years it might be time for a new one. Peace,,,Moosie

I think you are right Moosie and I have been thinking this way all day long. I have never hung an opener before so I was just kind of trying to avoid it if possible.
If you have a remote take the battery out and see if that helps.Try disconnecting the hard wire button and using the remote.Disconnect or jumper the eye at the bottom of the door if yours has one.
My Sears started acting up and I took the printed circuit loose from the side of the opener and let it hang to get a good look at it.....it started working...guess what... its still hanging and works great.
