unknown vaccum hose.

today on my 81, i found a real small plastic vaccum hose just hanging on the right side of the engine comp. near the fender well. it has a rubber end on it with a circular type lock on it.it runs into the firewall near the right side of the distributor along with three other of the same type. smog pump is missing and also ac comp. is gone. also would like to know the proper connections of vaccum hoses to the carb and air cleaner. any help would be appreciated. thanks namvet.

I think that small vac line goes to the heater hose shutoff valve.

thanks Darango, wasnt nothing hooked to the heater valve so i put it there. what does it do anyway????????? heater worked without this hooked up. maybe valve is stuck!!!!!!!!!!! namvet

That valve is to shut off the water supply to the heater (functions in OFF and A/C MAX settings, I believe).
