Default Headlight Questions

Well .....I've been back on the road now for a couple of weeks and so now I'm beginning to see all of the "other" things that need attention. One being the headlights. I've swapped an actuator and the bolt's/washers for each headlight's connection to the actuator assy. However - one of the headlamp assemblies has a crack at the bolt hole and both are loose at the upper hinges. Last night, I drove it home with some foam wedges just to make it home without pissing too many people off because of flapping headlights.

My questions are, is there a stop adjustment for the up travel? I can lift each headlight an inch when the lights are on.

The other question is, should I just convert to something else, being that the cracks and play might be more expensive than just converting?

Sorry to be so long winded. Any help - or pics would be appreciated.

For whatever reason, the j-bars have nothing to limit their travel on either side. Is there supposed to be a rubber piece at the frame?

And, does the j-bar contact that rubber piece before the vacuum actuator is fully extended keeping the headlights from flapping around?

maybe something frozen or out of ajustment because when the headlights are all the way up the brace has a bolt on it ,on the outside of the assembly, it hits the housind which holds it steady, not realy a good description but you should get the idea when looking under the car at the headlights when full up
