I found "Pilot Job" stamped on the backside of a piece of my interior on my 68 vert. Anybody know what this means? Car is first month of production. #329.
We use to run pilot jobs. Some were for engineering testing and some were saleable vehicles. Basicly it was a system test of the new model build. I'd say it is pretty rare to come by one.
This is kind of common on early 1968s. My BIL has one in the 36xx range with a lot of those stamps on a black interior. There were lots of "running" changes to the 1968 interior, so the "pilot job" could show up farther into production.
