Default Fog Lights

I have an 82 Vette and I am thinking of placing fog lights behind the grills and would like to see what everyone else has done.

Post up the ideas.

Thanks & have a great weekend

I cut some grills up and installed both custom foglights and turn signals made from foglights. I then backed it with some aluminum mesh and wired the foglights to come on with the headlights. They are projector style so they put off plenty of low level light.

There was a guy on here that did that on a '79, Vette was white, maybe beige. It looked slick because you couldn't really see them unless they were a blazin'. Very steathly. These in the pics on this thread look like another cool way to go too.

May have been this car:

I remember he had some pics of the install when he was doing it. Give him a shout or do a search and see if any of that info. is still around. I believe he has since sold that car to some one else here on the forum, hence the name change I imagine.

Here is the thread I think I was thinking of:

Looks like Paul is back in another C-3 too.

Yes, I did that years ago and in fact they are still working on that 1979. But they won't work on a 1982 because the horizontal grill slats are slanted.

But there is another option that allows you to use the bright (turn signal) filament of the front 1157 bulbs as DRLs. This worked well on my 1967.

In fact that DRL conversion was on my to-do list for 2008 but I ran out of time before winter storage time came. As to where that kit/module came from I seem to have lost the receipts but there are a number of them out there.

I suppose. It's been almost 10 years on the Forum for me. I've seen a few things here and done a lot to C3s and C2s. And made a few contributions along to the hobby along the way.

My 1979. Loved it from 1986 to 2003. I don't have the before restoration pics but...it was a basket case. In those days it was a badly beaten up 7-year-old used car. But it was a Corvette and all I could afford in the 1980s. We had dreams even then.

Yep, Paul has contributed quite a bit. He's a great part of the forum.

Thanks DB. And hope you had a nice Halloween. The number of kiddies coming by tonight is down here, perhaps 20. I guess that a sign of the times: people afraid of the streets. Sad....We used to have 100-120. Kids just can't have fun anymore.

Sarah and I went to an adult Halloween party. We got smashed, Sarah managed to keep her slutty Girl Scout costume on most of the night...*Sigh*...and we made it home safe and sound early this morning.

I probably won't be answering the door for treaters for a long time...maybe by then things will have changed and more kids will be back out there.

After you are married and when a little one comes along you will probably get caught up in the Halloween hoopla. We didn't have many drop by but those who did were very excited! And of course so were the accompanying Moms and Dads.
