Mounted Seats
I have a 79 vette, I'm getting ready to buy a set of mounted leather seats from Willcox. Which make the better looking seat installed the 21/2" or 4" bolsters. Thanks Bill.

As a past owner of several 79-82 cars and just from my experience the 4" seats look better and are easier on the body. The 2" covers last longer (less wear on the sides getting in and out of the car), but don't feel as good when you sit in them.
This is coming from someone that is 6'4" too, so you'll have to base some of this on your size. I went with the 2" covers on one car of mine due to the fact that I am harder on seats and wanted them to last.
Now one other trick I always did was to not clip in the seats bottoms in place! In doing so, I could rotate them from left to right in a moments notice and get even wear on both seat bottoms. You can do this with the backs but they don't want to stay in place and will fall out on you if you’re not careful.
