Shifter pointer
On my 77 automatic the shift lever position pointer is missing. I see Ecklers has them. Since mine is missing what do I need to look at on my shifter to see if I am able to install A new one Not having one I need to know if there might be something on my shifter busted off. Thanks

The needle is probably broken off inside. On the side of the shifter there is a little bracket that bolts in place with a pin that moves the needle with it. It's on UPS 7a Sheet 4 of the AIM. The needle rides on guide built in to the lens retainer.
