I love 68 Safari Yellow. By the way, has anybody ever asked you what LAGNAF means? There is an old bar in SFO called Tommy's Joint that has this pearl behind the bar: "IITYWYBMAD"

lagnaf.....what color was your car originally? is painting it the original color an option, or is it something you can't deal with?
The car was originally classic white. I bought it with it's current white pearl. White isn't my favorite color, particularly for my Corvette. Otherwise I'm trying to keep the car as true to original as I can.
i have always thought that classic white is about the BEST color on a 73 vette. i have seen alot of really nice ones. the pearl white probably doesn't look nearly as nice. but ultimately it is your car, and you should probablyl paint it whatever color that will suit you. good luck with it, rick
I gave color a lot of consideration when i painted my 82. I could have gone with any color. I looked at a lot of vettes at Bloomington. I think the metalic blue they used on early C3's was very nice and classy, wasn't it Nassau Blue? I restored a 69 that color and it was gorgous. They also had a metallic yellow and metalic burnt orange back then that were nice. Black and red are nice but ya see a lot of them in this color. The nice thing about black/red is it really shows off the incredible C3 lines. Probably why ya see so many in this color, huh? My wife wanted to go yellow in the worst way but he more I looked at yellow vettes, I didn't know if I would be able to love the color for years down the road. One of the coolest colors I've ever seen on a C3 was a Pearl yellowish/orange custom color. It was amazing!
I think the solid red/blacks look better on a vette than those with metal flake. The advantage of these is they are also much easier to touch-up when you get (and you will get them) rock chips and little blemishes in years to come.
Just like the other poster asked, I eventually had to also decide if I wanted to stand out, or blend in. I didn't really want to stand out. I settled on silver which was the original color and I don't have any silver cars at the moment. Of all the vettes I've looked at, I wouldn't say silver was the best color, but they can look nice and I know it's not a color I will get bored of so quickly and not so common either. That's how I broke down my decision-making. Maybe it'll help you in your decision making process. Good luck deciding.
