I have found that most judges and people don't like my 78 Dk Brown metallic. Witch is the original paint color. I have learned to appreciate it after going to Bowling Green, and never seeing a brown Vette. Same at Carlisle. With that said. I found a great artists to do the art work, and he hooked me up with a paint and body shop in Port St.Lucy, Fl.. My fiberglass is in really good shape. Daniel the artist called me today and told that my Vette went in the shop today. He expects to start the art work Monday. Paint shop is going to prep and shoot the base coat then Daniel take it back to his shop dose the art work then back for a couple of heavy clear coats and buff. I was thinking it would take a month or more, like the last time. I was told today I should have it back by the 18th of December. That's great the 18th is my B-Day. So to my friends who read this. Make sure to put some Grant's and Franklin's in my B-Day card I'll post pic's when she comes home.
Good on you, keeping it brown i hope, mines brown and I love it, very few of them around anymore, anyone can own a black, yellow or red corvette. i love how mine can look black in the shade and copper in the sun. Cheers, Dennis.

Well said. Did you see that thread a few months ago about Brown vettes? Some great pics there. I'm going to be painting mine soon in Brown again.
what art work is there going to be? i know we'll eventually see pics.... but still!
Being brown there not many colors that would work with brown, in my eyes. I've always like yellow and orange. So, stock 78 brown with fire. Not Hot Rod flames. Coming up over the nose up the hood. With demon ghost skulls in the fire. Also fire blowing out from the scalloping on each side. It should look great. because the 60's and 70's were very good to me. From what I can remember.

This isn't a criticism- but the tone of your first post sounds like because brown is not a popular color, you are adding artwork. From what you describe, I hope that this is purely for your own enjoyment and the heck with everyone else, because I would guess that even less of those people that didn't like brown, will like brown with all the custom stuff on it.

I didn't mean to make it sound like I was doing this for others. Screw them. If you new me. You would know that. I do and say what I want when I want. I like being different with my cars, bikes, and other toys. The fire is something I've wanted to do for a long time. Just couldn't the right artist to do the work. This will be the second time I've had her painted. And it's still Dk. Brown metallic base coat
