In some ways, I find the search function here to be almost too good. I find that often if I do a search on a group of words, the result comes back with all threads that have each of the words, even if it is individually, and 99% of what has come back is not applicable to my question. I have gotten some great info by searching, but have come up empty many times and asked a question, and then got told "do a search". It can be a little annoying, but I keep in mind that I am asking for free help so I never get ticked or anything, but maybe I need one of my progeny to give me a lesson on more effective searching, as their generation seems to be more accustomed to that

"Even when you do use the search function, a lot of the answers can be incorrect as well". It's trigger happy posters that have to be the first to answer that generally give wrong answers. Don't always believe the first answer you read in a thread. Let it build some replies. If it doesn't get shut down because someone gave a wrong answer and a pissing macth started, you will easily get the right answer...eventually...not immediately. There are clear reasons I do not post near as much as I used to on here
Double check the answers you receive here. Lot of good information here & a lot of bad over the years.

Hi Everyone,

I just joined the forum not to long ago, and have enjoyed the conversations! Its nice to beable to talk to real corvette people that dont look down on you because you own other cars than corvettes.

Thanks,

I found the group on facebook and I thought I would ask the question just in case there were some that did not know about corvette forum. Over the last year the help I have received on CF has enabled me to buy my vette with confidence and put it on the road and be proud of it that I did the work by myself and for myself with the help from all of you, so I thought I would get it out there with the facebook group so they could receive the same help that I did.
I thank you all for it. Love my vette.

Todd

To Sabre1981: Thanks for the reminder that many CF members have a rep for being 'Good Joes'.

For such a large group of like-minded folks, I find few angry or smart-@zz posters. Most all are helpful, even if they don't have specific info.

I'm no expert to any of this but I do have experience to a lot of hours around our hobby. Most of us learn quick to ID bs and call a spade a spade; nothing wrong with a lively debate as long as it's civil.

I read this forum on and off for over a year before I stepped up to the plate to join because it became evident this place offered up the camaraderie I sought.

We share common goals towards our cars and it's been a hoot getting to interact with a bunch of you guys (or gals, as the case may be); some more than others but always showing respect and good sportsmanship. So much so that I focus here when I have time to offer answers or ask my questions, regardless how lame they may be sometimes.

Thanks for your help and looking forward to keeping up or helping out where I can!

As one mentor of mine once said: "No excuses".

Eddie

i agree thats why i HATE asking questions here that i know you guys have heard of already but....when i search for the answer i get 1000 posts and then the question is missing just the one bit of info i needed. atleast we dont get ripped apart here like other forums do for asking something repeative.
