Not sure of a specific forum discount but they're offering free shipping right now.

Free shipping? It doesn't say anything about that on their website! Where did you see that? I have a few things I am ready to order, one is a wheel so free shipping would make me pull the trigger.

I had several items I needed to order last week and when I checked the "sale", the eventual prices weres still higher than everyone else. They were more competitive a year or 2 ago but everyone is beating them now.

i find their quick shipping worth and extra dollar or two over others prices one vendor <------ took almost 3 weeks to ship a small in stock part to me where as ecklers has my parts to me in 5 days.

Free shipping can be better than the discount on some items.

It pays to get on their email specials list. Then they email you the discount notices. I would be willing to bet they will offer a big discount or free shipping around christmas, and then also the new year. Ecklers usually has their specials during major holidays. With the economy the way it's going, I suspect we'll see more special offers.

In my order I compared a $500 short list between Ecklers, Willcox, Corvette Central, Zip and Paragon. With their sale, Ecklers was higher on every part, and it wasn't "a couple dollars." Willcox was the lowest.

I never used Willcox before, so I used the order as a test. One drop shipped part came the next day; the rest was there 2 days later. So, Ecklers wasn't competitive in either price or shipping.

I used to buy everything from Ecklers, now it's all Willcox ... unless it's fiberglass, I still buy that from Ecklers but only because they're not too far from me and I can pick it up myself instead of paying outrageous freight charges.

the best part about ecklers is the price match, you find one part cheaper somewhere else they will match it.

I never understood the point of price matching. If I found it cheaper somewhere else, I'd just buy it there... why waste my time telling Vendor A that Vendor B has it cheaper, when I can just buy it from Vendor B?

Now if they want to guarantee a LOWER price, that would be one thing, but guaranteeing the SAME price... who cares.

They can only guarantee a price match. Think about it ! If they all guaranteed a lower price, you would just keep going back and forth saying the other guy was beating their price until you would be getting the part for free. Not hard to understand !

No one has to give a part away below their cost, at some point one of the two would say "I can't afford to sell it for that, sorry" and that's it. Ecklers has been around a lot of years, I can't imagine they don't have pretty strong buying power. They can probably get many items a lot cheaper than other places can.

I dunno, I used Wilcox in the past....but the forum has turned into one big Wilcox ad. Every other thread is a ad for something Wilcox has to sell. It was fine when it was applied to a single sticky at the top.....now it's mixed in with the regular threads.

But like the others said, the Ecklers "free shipping" discount comes via email...

I have to agree with Ron R that if another company has a good price then I would go with them. Why do the back and forth thing. Unless you really wish to purchase from Ecklers. To me what this means is that they will get every last dime they can from people that know no better to look for better prices. So buyer beware.

i use them every one in a while, they had a 15% off sale a couple of months ago and I missed it.. wanted to buy something 3 days after the sale and called them up and asked them to extend the sale.. the young lady told me no... then 3 weeks later thay had the same sale again....

I was about ready to pull the trigger on a long list of parts from ZIP online, and I called zip up to clarify an item and the rep told me that there was a secret sale and was giving me free shipping and 10% off.. just for calling them up... SOLD....... saved me about 100$

doesn't hurt to call your vendor up and ask for a discount.. alot of times they will give it to you...

I agree it is probably not right to play them off of each other... but I would look for a deal if I am spending a couple hundred...
