32 here, C-3 Great looking and powerful, The two must go together. I like a great looking with alot of power. Thats what gets me when I look at it when its parked. Is knowing it will go like hell............
I was in love with the C3 since I can remember. Maybe I was 5 (1970). I didn't know crap about performance then, so it was all styling. I am thrilled, however, That I have a hot little 327 4 spd convertible. No tuner car can stir me like the cammed-up rumble of a V-8!

I'm 40. I could have bought a 1999 vette for about the same price I paid for my C3. But looks over speed. If I wanted fast I would have got a motorcycle.
It has to have both! Most C3s definitely have the style, you may just have to add the power yourself. I think that's how we end up with $30K - $40K in some of our C3s.
I'm 55 years old. I've had a 88, new 90, 70 (with a LS6 Chevelle 450 HP) and now an original (mostly) 68 L36 Roadster. I want it to run perfectly and MAKE NOISE. The 427 has lotsa torque, so performance is no problem. The 8K paint and glass work give it style. This car is fun. I love to pull wrenches on it. Kids of all ages stop and yell, "I want that car!" Then I reach in and turn the key (it scares them). Just about right...
I'm 30. If I wanted pure power I'd own a Camaro or Chevelle like everyone else. Instead I own a 71 because I love the body lines. Plus, with my big block I can have the best of both worlds!
I have owned a c4, c5, and now a c3. I LOVE the styling, which is why i sold my c5. I love performance, which is why i have a zz4/385hp and a 4 speed. Why not both??? I stopped at a dealership today to look at a 2004 convertible. The dealer was more interested in my car than i was in his.
I'm almost 59. Style and performance are both important. This is my 1st Vette. It's by far the fastest car I've ever had. I've done more wrenching on it then any car I've ever owned.
im 23 and only feeling older...... styling. who doesnt like the sexy curves of these beautiful machines!
performance is a whatever thing... everybody wants more of that. eventually we all build what we want, but how many of us redesign the entire body of the c3?

C2 and C3 vert's are very beautiful cars IMO and cars I want in my collection. Apples to oranges but I Autocross and typically the fastest time of the day belongs to a C5 Z06 or a C6 Z06 or a C6 with the Z51 package.
The C5 and C6 Z06s are American Supercars and carry on the Corvette's 50 year plus legacy as the foremost US sportscar
I just turn 50. Purchased my '79 cause I like the style . Performance was not important. Then the ricers started to buzz around. This made me crazy so I threw in a cam , some vortecs , headers and a 700R. Somehow the ricers know! Now they NEVER bother me . but yeah - its still style #1 !
I gotta go with style over substance in this case. The L-82 in mine does just fine in stock form. You just got to love the heads turning at stop lights. It never gets old. Speeding tickets do though.
I'm 51 and own a '70 and a '98. Both have their unique style, yet both have their own performance characteristics. True the mid ‘70’s to early ‘80’s didn’t excel in giving us the kick in the pants, shut up, sit down, hold on performance that we were accustomed to before the insurance companies put a killing on HP, but that came back. So to me, styling was the first that I thought about.
65 next week. Have seen the introduction of every Corvette generation. Each one got redundant just before the next generation was introduced. Styling was always first in my view with performance right behind. Things did get pretty interesting though in the performance arena when Chevy introduced the 283 in 1957 and the 348 in 1958. Don't know if they ever put a 348 in a Corvette though. The early sixties Chevy did some really great changes in body styling and incorporating the high H.P. 327's, 409's and 427's.
I have a redundant '75 coupe I was attracted to because I love the styling and the low price I bought it for in 1995. Lottsa mechanical upgrades, non-Corvette color and redone interior. Otherwise stock in general appearance. To me anything beyond the C3 is boring in appearance; that just my opinion. C3's are good looking and there are a lot on the road. Anything before 1968 is too valuable to drive around on a regular basis. I'm sure someone here will say he drives his '65 coupe to work every day, but most of those cars sitting somewhere to look at. Guess I kind of ran off with this; sorry.
