I don't think your alone on that one. When it's snowing outside it's nice just to climb behind the wheel and throw some tunes in the CD player and daydream about summer coming again. Were jealous of you guys living in Florida and California.

Its 37 outside this morning in VA and the wind is blowing about 18mph! I'm trying to install new carpet in my car but I think it will have to be next week. Wish I had a heated garage!

I'm 61 now, hard to believe sometimes. I love the look of the C-3 and mine is only moderately modified. I have got to the point in life where style is more important then power, for that my 86 C-4 is faster. I also got to the point where I like a beautiful car with less nise. I'm taking off the side-pipes and going with the full duals, still more power but a lot quieter. No matter how much power you have in a C-3, there is always a newer more powerful Vette. Both of my Vettes are a lot faster then my 86 Alfa spider but I love the style of that also. With a C-3 you can have both but the style will never fade.

From about '74 through the early '80s, ALL American cars had more show than go, compared to '65 through '72.

Duck, the Trans Am guys are coming!

I'm over 60 and I have to say it is the styling that appeals to me for the C3. I too can just park the car and look at it for hours. My wife does the same thing.

Fortunately I have an LS3 C6 as well that is really fast if I want performance, luxury, safety and comfort.

I'm 20 at the moment and bought the 79 less than a month ago. It has been my dream car, especially since I asked someone to give me a short ride in his 78. It was last Spring. I like performance cars and it's cool to have good acceleration but I don't need performance over looks. C3 is the best looking car ever made, the next one in my opinion is the Lamborghini Countach. I like sitting in the car and turning the radio on, I also love to start it up in the garage (the garage doors wide open!).

Can't get enough of watching it just for its looks.

Right now the stock L-48 seems to give fine acceleration for me, it also pulls quite strong!

But it's true - the one you see or experience the very first time, is the one you want the most. I like all C3's but in my heart I just had to get a 78-79 model because it's the one I got to touch the first time. I perfectly remembered how the door handle worked, how the long nose looked from the cockpit and how the newer style RPM gauge moved up once the engine started. I kept looking at the photos I took of that particular car and how the fastback window smoothly went over the back of the body. That day I never thought I can have a car like that in the next couple of years. I also imagined the price to be much higher than it actually is.

seeing the fenders and cowl out of the windshield feels really cool that styling is like no other car. so i guess its all about the looks of a vette but i dont want the stock grand prix gt to be faster than my car either.

I dont know of anyone on the Planet that thinks a C3 is ugly.

My 16yr uses our '76 L-48 as his daily driver. He absolutely loves the car. Even with the 190HP stock 350 in it.

If you own a C3 you know looks are important. After that, just make it as performance oriented as you (and your wallet) can handle.

Styling is why I have the vette, but I need a little power too.
I like cars that can backup the look. I'm not saying my car is the fastest thing around.. it is definitely not even close, but it is enough to make me smile .

Oh yeah I am under 40.

Styling all the way; you can't really improve on it.

Riding down the boardwalk in ocean city with a few hundred newer Corvettes and hearing people tell their kids (as you drive by in your c3) .." now here is the real deal" or " this is what im talkin about " ....
i guess its Allways been a style thing for me .
I had a '66 goat ( bought new ) loaded and full power (turned high 12's ).after a couple yrs of that the fun was gone and so was the car .....but theyll probably bury me in my c3 .oh.and my age?... lets just say ...im older then you are ..

Welcome to the shady side of the hill (I'm over half way to 64). I like the look of the C3 a lot. I didn't start out that way, but the shark body sort of grows on you. Because I'm keeping my survivor car "unmolested" I'm not worried about performance. My DD, an LS1 Z28 Camaro, gives me all the performance this old man can take. The 427 is respectable in the performance department, but it sure isn't any LS series engine and the car is so damn nose heavy that it sure isn't a true sports car. It is, however, the most "oh wow" car I've ever owned. I have a great looking 69 Mustang convertible that is pretty fast in it's own right (I've "molested" the hell out of that SB Ford), but it never gets the comments on a regular basis that the Corvette gets. The day I bought it, about 2 1/2 years ago, I got a thumbs up from a stranger about two blocks from the P.O.s house and it hasn't ever stopped. My other favorite thing is starting the 427. Every time that big beast barks to life, especially inside a garage, I get a real rush of adrenalin. Nothing else sounds like a big block. My little Mustang has a wicked idle, but the big block is just "hairy chested" to listen to. But, my main interest is the look of my 69.

.

Number one is Horsepower and Performance. Its graceful lines and styling was just a bonus. ..

Oh, I lost count after my birthday cake was nearly set on fire from all the candles.

Don't you love it? I can't count how many times I've had someone come up to me at a car show and say "when I think of a Corvette this is what I see" or "the new ones just don't have the style of the old Vettes" C2s & C3s are where it's at baby.............
