Default Lower Valance Issues

Does anyone have any good photos of the Lower Valance on an 80-82. Mine sags pretty good but there doesnt seem to be anything to support it in the middle. It only sits about 2-3 inches off the ground so it catches on everything. Any suggestions on how to raise it up to the right height?

Sounds like that tab/retainer piece may be missing. Mine didn't have one either so I made my own and took care of the sag.

Awesome thanks guys yea now that I know what I'm looking for I can see that the tab is broken off. Sounds like a 13 cent piece of scrap and 5 minutes with a welder and I'm back in buisness! Thanks for taking the time to take those photos!

The red bracket that pass’s thru the lower valance panel is usually the culprit if the lower valance is not sitting properly.

When the car is curbed this bracket will bend. You can usually bend it back in to position and your lower valance will be just as good as new.

You have to also remember the lower valance if original was urethane and inside the rear lip were two metal retainers too.

I think I have a picture of them here if I find it I’ll post it.

Oh. . . Sorry. . . Picture one above shows a hint of this metal reinforcement!
