Refreshing honesty. Sadly, it has no place here sometimes.

Doc,

This thread is not the place to debate. But I want to say one more thing. With all of your vast years of working on Corvettes and being in the business, I'll bet you have a ton of knowledge about parts and repairs.
How come you never post suggestions to people that need them?

Your posts are negative in tone- in just reading the first few pages of your catalog - you are negative.

To the author of the book, sorry about the off topic stuff here.

Sir,

When I wrote of volunteer work, I’m was not referring to the Internet or anything remotely connected to Corvettes. Most often people contact me directly with questions, and I offer advice. My public participation in this venue is limited, as I have been notified of the pay for play on more than one occasion. Even the forum private messages I receive are not freely answered for this cause. Any measure that can be even loosely interpreted as a sales push is restricted.

I have often contacted others privately of my own volition, asked them to email directly and offered aid in that manner. In this thread there are two such members whom I contacted privately outside this venue to offer help – not sales – when the advice they received was inaccurate and incomplete. I will always speak out, when I uncover scammers, liars ands cheats regardless of the consequences. And I fully understand that the distribution of libelous material would produce an expensive judgement. That will not occur on my part.

Geoffrey Coenen

PS I sign my name, don’t hide and prefer frankness to a slick disingenuous demeanor. Anonymity facilitates and encourages conduct that would not normally occur.

Im having trouble understanding what the purpose of the negative
comments towards the OP is? Its a thread to simply thank those
who purchased his book. There are alot of members with a great
deal of knowledge on these cars that may or may not disagree
with some of the info in the book. We all have our opinions.
Sometimes its best to keep them to ourselves. Treating others
like you would like to be treated. Is that too difficult?

Just finished reading all the posts. Amazing. I just don't get what drives some people's thoughts.
I'm not gonna comment on what anyone has said, not my place. I will pass along some common sense words from my late Father though.

Once when I was young I was making fun of a guy that worked for us that was a few bricks shy of a load, and my Dad said "Son, if you listen to the dumbest man in the world for long enough you'll learn something from him that you didn't know". Kinda put me in my place real quick.

So while I've never seen the book it's obvious that some got what they expected, others didn't. Let it go.

Oh well, Life's Life - We deal with it.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I have a copy of the book that I bought shortly after buying my car in 1995. It was one of the few books I could find at the time specifically talking about '68 to '82 Corvettes. Though I'm not so much into restoring as I am modding, I enjoyed the book and I still have it.
