PWT...old school.....

I am kinda stoked about getting the engine back in the car,and hope that the big brown truck....makes a stop here today,so I can get my head gaskets,AFR head bolts, oil pump, and pick up for the RR pan,so...these pics are just a mock up,but it looks pretty darn good, and has the look that I am after.

I'm gonna run a single plane w/750DP to break everything in,then put the 6x2 back on there, and run the accusump plumbing.I have a jamar stud girdle, but have been saving these old valve covers for a rainy day,and it looks like they win out.
After getting the engine back in,and fired, then the J56 install, rebuild the front susp.,then paint.Go figure......
Should be fun.Engine is a 357 4-bolt,decked to zero,Moroso RR pan w/5 trap doors ,brodix IK180s massaged alittle w/racing valves,new springs,locks,retainers,1.6 rollers w/kool locks,Harvey aluminum flywheel,6x2 X1 Edelbrock w/6 custom Holley 2110s,and original TI setup.We shall see.No race car,but a fun toy.....

weak shock,big tires,and 2nd grabbed HARD!!!

And....my shop crew!

until next time......back to the customer's cars....

What a coincidence.
My 68 was the same exact color green when I bought it in 1972.
The prior owner said it was called Firemist Green and was a GM Cadillac color.
It had very fine metalflakes in it.
I like the way the exhaust headers exit through the fender cutout. Very unique.
Good luck with the project, took me 10 years to get my 68 back to where it should be.
Happy New Year

That picture is one of the few times they are being mellow. If a neighbor farts 2 blocks down the road.....I know about it.
They are good guard dogs, and noone is going in the shop univited! The engine, and 6x2 were in the car.I just got the heads from the machine shop, and degreed the new cam in last night.I love the induction on this old girl!

I've had a couple 68 L79s.

Some of the suspension pieces like the half shafts, the chrome is starting to pit some,so I have the later larger style that I am going to clean up,paint, and install new solid u-joints when I get this thing running, and start on the suspension/brake part of this rebuild.

Dude...that crew is layn' down on ya big time!!
