Taking some time off from the C3 and doing a little hot-rodding
Hey guys and gals,
I had to put a hold on the '69 Corvette Coupe due to lack of funds so I got back on my '38 Dodge Brothers Business Coupe.
My boys (18 and 23) and I painted the old Dodge with John Deere blitz black paint (satin finish black enamel 1 stage paint). It came out great and I had a lot of great bonding hours with my boys who both have the car bug.

Thanks guys - we had about 150 hours in the paint job alone. This has been a 6yr. project for me and it's close to being on the road.

Thanks guys. Right now it has a 350 HO Deluxe crate motor in it. I really want to swap it out to a vintage hemi someday. I am casually looking for a builder block.
I am also ditching the old mustang buckets that are in it right now and fabbing up a bench seat that will get a black tuck and roll treatment. The seats were left over from the '89 LX donor car that we used for my son's 70 Mustang 5.0/5spd transplant. They just didn't work w/ the car, as I am going for a more traditional look.
Hi Dennis how are you? Everyone here is doing well. It was fun wrenching with both the boys. When will you be out this way again? Let me know and we'll have another garage party

It looks killer with that black on there! I can't wait until my son is a little older and we can work in the garage together. He's three now, and his idea of helping me is wandering off with my tools and finding a toy to play with.

It's great working with the boys, You will love it. My younger son and I built his '70 mustang last year.

Hello brother Mopar owner! Your blitz looks great with the whites! What kind of running gear is under her?
Mine should be ready for spring, the last great push, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The wife and I took her around the block, had to use lawn chairs, it was all good until yours truly decided to check the timing a little, her feet went up in the air, us and the nieghbors laughed all dam night.

Chevy69, you aiming for a springtime finish on that? I love the look, it's a way cool car. If it were a Ford i'd say it needs a flathead, but since it's a Mopar, yeah, it definitely needs an old school Hemi.

Hey guys - yes I plan to be rolling this spring. It may not be "done" but I will be able to take it up to the regular sat nite cruise at Pavillions on Indian Bend. As far as running gear goes right now it's a 350 HO deluxe GM crate motor w/ 4L60 4 spd auto and 9" ford rear (from '72 BB Mustang). I have a Street Rod Engineering mustang II kit in it and used their parrallel leaf spring kit to hang the rear end. I also have a remote brake booster under the floor.
