Default Sandblaster static elec - shocking!

I have been doing a fair amount of sandblasting as I am finaly getting my car back together. I am constantly getting shocked from the static build up from the cabinet. So far I have tried grounding the cabinet and standing on a thick rubber pad. Neiher really works as the charge is going in one arm and out another part of my body - a lot less resistance then my ground attempt apparently. It actually starts to pulse enough so I can feel it building up.

This has only started happening since it has gotten cold with a lot less humidity. I heat my garage to around 60 but still has very low humidity. I am thinking of trying a humiderifier but thought I would check here to see if anyone else has had and solved this problem.

Would one of these computer ground straps help? Put the strap on your wrist and connect the clip onto the blast cabinet.

That is exactly what I was going to suggest. When we work in the telephone central offices those are mounted to all the cabinets, the fiberoptic elctronics are very sensitive to static. Get one or make one, it'll solve the problem.
