Hi Guys, I understand that the original build sheet from production is a sticker on the drivers side of the gas tank. My question is: Does GM keep records of these and if so, who would I write to to get a copy of the original build sheet?I had a peek through from the tailight I removed today, and could definately see a wrinkled up piece of paper but way out of reach, and not enough space to get my camera up there to take a pic of it.

Thanx,

Some 79-81 owners may be able to obtain a copy of the dealer invoice for their cars from Allied-Vaughn following the links here. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...x.php?cmd=area
Most owners of Bowling Green built cars can obtain copies of their build sheets from the NCM. Records for the earlier cars do not exist.
the best thing to do is drop the tank, if you dont want to go that far you can lay on your back and reach up over the top ofthe tank and remove it. remember it is glued on usually through the center and sometimes glued pretty well so be easy with it.
build sheets arent available for the 78 but the dealer invoice is. i removed my 79 build sheet by reaching up and over. i then redrew it with all original information etc from another build sheet i found online, as well as my original delaer invoice (link above) this way i always have a 100% new copy of it as it was the very first day. my original sheet is framed and put away but i too made a scanned image of that one incase it deteriorates away in time.
Thank you one and all for your replies, I may have lucked out as my 78 is a Canadian Sold model, and there restoration kit includes an Options list (build sheet) specific for my car.
