My way, in small steps...
I was occupied by motorbikes for years and my last one was a Ducati Monster 900 wich I bought new in the year of 2000.
A mix between wanting to know my limit in fabricating small parts and a wish to create a bike that was tastefully modified and also done with some one off parts, it ended up like this: http://web.telia.com/~u41816991/
My Stingray is still quite ordinary but my desire to put the personal touch into it comes creeping under my skin...
I have made a designstudy wich began when I should connect the electrical choke.
My next thought was to make a clear air cleaner so I could watch the choke work without letting dirty air into the engine.
This is how the engine looked before, quite ordinary with a chrome air cleaner cover, polished valve covers and a chromed brake master cover. Don´t get too exited over the engine bay, I know I have things to deal with...
A piece of plastic glass and a large plate of stainless steel bonded together looks like this:
Installed on my carb it looks like this:
A closeup of the same picture:
My first impression is that it´s quite unique but I haven´t made up my mind if it´s cool or just different.
Not much else is different yet but feel free to have a look at the car here: www.coolvette.nu
Feel free to comment me and my odd ideas.
I fabricated a set of clear cambelt covers for my Ducati but to make a pair of valve covers is a little more difficult but possible I think.
I´ll consider this thorough and we´ll see what comes out of it.
I´m grateful for the feedback thou.
Of course I´m biased but I like to find new ways, rather than choosing the mainstream route that tends to be a boring highway with no new views in any direction.
