No one is making them, but I should have a good used one. Depends on what color you need. Give Norm or Tommy a call tomorrow if you want and they will look.

If you need to change the color, just re-dye them with the correct color of vinyl dye [after you thoroughly clean and dry them, of course].

The roof panel straps are made of a Nylon type material (Similar to the seat belt webbing) and will not take the painted dye very well. They will dye, but they become a little hard from the spray dye.

An old trick on this type of material is to use RIT dye and boil them in water. I’ve done faded seat belts this way and they have worked out great! You basically mix up the color you want and test it. Once you have the color heat the dye and insert the belt. If you are doing seat belts with retractors you have to channel lock the belt in the outward position and keep the retractor out of the dye. The tiny area that is not in the dye will not show up once installed.

Willcox Corvette:

Vinyl dye will not make the nylon belts stiff...unless you use a spray paint that the manufacturer has [incorrectly] labeled as "dye". I have become suspicious that the spray cans of 'dye' sold by the aftermarket companies are really paint, as there have been many comments by CF users as to how such products behave...and they are not consistent with my experience in using SEM vinyl dye products (liquid vinyl dye in cans and sold by pro auto paint supply stores). It is interesting to note that SEM also sells another coloring product, which is basically a paint [but they do not label it as a dye].
Several CF members have used real vinyl dye to re-colore seat belts with no indication of the resulting belts becoming 'stiff' after the repair. So, I suspect the difference is due to the product being used. I thought this info might be of interest to you and CF users.

I agree with you 100 percent. I guess I'm used to people using the other stuff and thinking it would dye the vinyl web. It won't, it makes the material stiff and hard!

Real vinyl dye will work, and the Rit trick works even better it's a pain to use. The issue with the Rit trick is if it's not black or a common color you have to play with it for hours to get the right color.

You can get vinyl dye mixed to the interior color code of your car and it will match (your original stuff might have faded...but the new dye is the right color). And it will easily cover any color with a couple of light coast..even tan over black. It is "the right stuff"!

I had one done for my 70 by "Ssnake Oyl". I sent them the hardware that I got used and they did the rewebbing to my interior color, in my case bright blue.

Dude! I can't imagine going to the trouble removing an old carpet and choosing to [fabric] dye it, when you could just replace it with new for a bit more money. You'll go to all that trouble just to get a bit more color? Sounds like a lot of work for little gain. You are going to be disassembling most of the interior. Why not just put in new carpet plus clean and re-dye the interior parts? Then it will look like new...

I bought a bunch of the cargo straps on ebay. Cut off the best metal fittings from my collection and sent them to Snake-Oyl. They rechromed one set of metal fittings - the other set was NOS and didn't need rechroming.

When buying ebay straps keep in mind that the 68, 69 and 70 cars had two seperate straps; "II". Later cars had a "Y" single strap. I kinda think that the "II" strap metal fittings are different that the "Y" strap fittings. Not sure now.

Not hi-jacking this thread, sust responding to the statement.
I assume you referring to me. The carpet is in very good condition wear wise. Just a bit sun bleached to a brownish color in some areas. To me, it's much easier to touch up the existing carpet then pulling it out. If it was worn with holes etc... that would be different.
