I have been shown a picture of a 1968 Yanko Corvette. Does anyone know if such a car really excists or someone has just painted this thing up to look like one. I know there was a 67 Yanko but it was used for racing only and I do not believe that Yanko Chev produced C3 Yanko Corvettes.
The silver one pictured? Or the blue 427/435 dream car in my Avatar that I wish I owned?
If you're referring to the silver car, here's probably more info than you wanted to know: It was a local 427 car and if I recall correctly it was originally a 435 car but is now NOM with a 4 barrel. It was on Ebay in late summer 2008. A local guy bought it in Carnegie, PA a few weeks before listing it and he claimed it was a true Yenko racer in his description. I suggested that since I see Donna Mae Mimms around regularly and she is pretty approachable, I could ask her if she knows the racing history of this particular car, as it would really help his sale. He went silent on me.
Former CF member VetteCrazy had looked at it and said it was a really decent car other than one bad windshield pillar, which I assume this guy selling it fixed. I thought it looked like a pretty awesome machine, NOM or not, and was tempted to go check it out. However, that was around the time we all started to hold our wallets a little closer...
