The impedence of the speaker set will change, depending on how you hook them together. With 'parallel' wiring, (+) sides of both speakers are hooked together and to one feed wire, and (-) sides of both speakers are hooked together and to the other feed wire. The net impedence is 1/2 of the impedence of each speaker. [Using two 4 ohm speakers in parallel, the net impedence is 2 ohms.]
'Series' wiring has one feed wire going to the (+) side of one speaker, the (-) side of that speaker connected to the (+) side of the other speaker, and the (-) side of that speaker run to the other feed wire. The net impedence of both speakers is double the impedence of each speaker. [Using two 4 ohm speakers in series, the net impedence is 8 ohms.]
