Do you think this setup will work 275/45-18 on rear 18x9.5 w5" backspace.------------255/45-18 on front 18x8.5w 4.5 backspace.

Heres is way too much information on how to find out for sure. Wheels are one of those "better know before" kinda things.

I think the fronts are too wide with .5" too much backspace. Mine are 8" rim w/4" bs, anymore in and they would rub. I think you'd be adding 1/4" in and 1/4" out more past the fender. The backs may also be 1/4" too much bs and sit right on the frame, maybe an 18x10 w/ 4.5"bs...But measure measure first or have an expert tire guy put it on a rack and measure...Good luck..

Sounds like you are lookin at the Boss wheels... I am as well. From my research, Jim Harrison is running 17X9.5 with a 4.75 backspace on all for corners. So, that tells me that 4.5 in. backspace is doable for the 8" rims up front. I currently have a 15X8 255/60/15 that fills the front fender nicely. I am afraid that by going with the 4.5in back space, it wont fill the fender up as nice. Adapters seem to start out at 1 in. thick. So, I was planning on going with some hub centric .5" spacers. Many people say adapter are the only way, but I always question the durability of aluminum in certain locations. With these spacers though, I don't see a problem. As for the back, I was planning on just mounting it the way it is with a 285/40/18 tire... As for height difference, the 255/45/18 is slightly bigger in diameter, but I don't feel it would be noticeable.

The 285/40/18 tire is listed at 27" where as the 255/45/18 is listed at 27" and 27.1". The difference would be that the 285/40/18 would completely turn 2 more times per mile. I'm also looking at the 245/45/18 as an option. I believe it's over all diameter is roughly 26.7".
