Radiator hose ??

Default Radiator hose ??
I had both upper & lower hoses replaced when I had the Vette (77 L-48, auto) in for some other work. How can I tell if the lower hose has the metal coil in it? I ordered a replacement from Zip and there was no coil that I can see. I have an over-heating problem and I think it might be the lower hose collapsing. Can you buy the metal coil?

just squeeze it, you'll be able to feel the coil inside

You can usually feel the spring inside better after the car is warmed up a bit too as opposed to cold.

The replacement hose from ZIP is AC Delco ACD# 26040X GM# 88908738. I do not feel any metal in the hose. Is this the correct hose? I've seen pics where the metal can be seen.

The squeeze test will do the job. These hoses are not expensive. Just get the right one.

Use it. The engine in my new daily driver Impala was made in Mexico. One of the best cars I have ever owned. Get used to global sourcing.
