I believe the diameter of the rod and the size of the bushing changed in 1974, and the rod changed when the rear carrier changed in 80.
So I believe it's 63-early74, late74-79, 80-82. 3 different rods. My bet is that 63-74, 74-79 will work interchangeably.

Alan is correct, but I think the large heads started in 75. If using a large head in an ealry support you have to check for extreme binding. When I set them up doing a T/A I mill a radius in the support to prevent that from happening.
Thanks so I have a 77 anything from 74-79 will be a good match for my Vette. When I changed the rear in my 77 I noticed that both the strut rods on my 77 where bent. they are both bowed up and they look like they were made that way because they are bowed the same in the same place. I have not noticed any kind of driving problems or tire wear and I'm sure it has been that way since I bought it back in 2003. But I have only put around 1500 miles on it during the time I've owned it.

Hi VV,
Back in the day and even more recently bending the rod with a large hammer was/is a way to set the rear camber. Bubba also runs an alignment shop.

So if it ride well and does not wear the tires should i do anything about it? Will it make a difference if i install new strut rods and I know I would have to have the rear aligned (sp)
IF it rides well, IF it doesn't wear the tires in an odd way, you COULD leave it the way it is.
The only down side is somewhere Bubba has begged a warm beer from someone and is celebrating that he got away with one.

Alan
