You can search this website, it has tons of information on restorations.
The first thing I would do, is check the frame and birdcage area and body mounts. If it has sat for 15 years outdoor, the moisture from the ground might have really rusted out the frame.
This could make the project cost a lot more money.
i live in Miami FL , so im guessing the humdity may of caused rusting. im sure iama have to replace the mounts the good thing about that is that my uncle owns a metal and welding company so i could get any type of welding work done for free
Restoring your father's car is a great thing to undertake.
A "whole restoration" means various things to various people, what do you have in mind?
A whole restoration can be very time consuming and expensive.

Alan
Well i plan on restoring it i mean i wont be able to get it to all original parts. Eventually putting a 383 stoker i would like to make it stick ( my dads regret was buying it auto )

Putting a stick in an auto is going to cost and if it is rusty as mention you are not going to get your money back if you decide to sell. If it's an l82 it will be worth a little more than the l48 though.
well we bought it a long time ago he was going to work on it but never had the time.. and didnt want to give it to me lol but when it was first bought it was fairly nice for 3,000 dollars
i got my moms 76 vette from her after is sat beside her house for 10 years and i have been restoring in for the past 6 years now. it was really rough when i got it and didnt have any interior in it and the windshield was missing. i am waiting to get the air cleaner back on monday so i can start it again and see what my new $1500 exhaust sounds like. restoring these cars can be very expensive and take a long time to do if you do it the right way. i am looking at getting my car painted next year so i will probably be starting my razor blade paint stripping soon so that i dont have to do it all at once. anyways good luck with your new project
well it's a little late but i finally got time from college so i can work a little on the 75 stingray. these are some pictures of how it looks now and soon i plan on posting pictures of the progress. ( btw my dad had it sitting on the side of the house for over 10 years...)
