Default 1968 hood alignment issue

I have a 1968 that was a frame off restore. I am trying to figure out if this is normal or not with my hood. Looking at the front of the hood where it meets the body the two outer corners where the hinges are, the hood sticks up about a 1/4" on both sides, yet in the center of the hood it is flat even with the body. If I adjusted the outer corners down it would bring the center down below the body. Is this a normal fit for this era or is it possible I do not have the correct hood or an aftermarket? I have attached some photos.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have any shims now in place with the hinge mounts? With the frame off was any work done on the fenders?
My 75 had front end work done at some point in time before I bought it and I had to separate the front left fender and reattach it properly to line it up with the hood. Front right is coming this spring.

Unless that's an L88 there is little doubt.

I'm sure there are guys here that can tell you how to fix it though.

How about a couple of pictures of the car itself, as a 68 owner I like seeing others.

We all like pictures especially of our beloved '68's.

My hood needs some adjustments also so I will be watching this thread closely.

Thats a horrible fit. take it off and start over. I used those wooden paint stirrers to gap around the edges. But that up and down leading edge has to be corrected. Was the nose showing those 30 something bumps and repaired? You need some serious glass work to correct it.

heres pictures, but its about as close to the front I ever take a picture.

You can try gently lifting on the nose to see if it can be raised enough to take up some of the gap, and if it does, then tighten it back down.68's use a bolt in the front of the nose( there is a bracket on the hoseshoe bumper support that bolts to a tab on the nose) that can be used to adjust the height of the nose.

If that doesnt work, the proper way to fix that is by breaking the bond of the wheelhouses to the fenders and lowering them down just a bit to bring the hood lower when it is reinstalled on them.

And a bar from the bottom of the radiator support out to the nose. While not stock for '68, you can also install a pair of the '69 and up bar reinforcements to the skirts.

I installed these on my '68 and it helped considerably.
