Gasket sealant?
I'm going through my BW super T10 replacing the gasket due to a leak.
The old shop manual says use heavy grease on the gaskets, how about a thin film of RTV? I would think a fine film of RTV is better. Your thoughts please.

The gasket should seal it just fine, all by itself. The grease, as recommended, is there only to hold the gasket in place during assymbly. It really isn't needed. If you "have" to use something on the gasket, try Rite-stuf, orange RTV (high temp), or aviation Permatex. I'd just put some grease on it an put it back together, being careful with the gasket.
