Check the small vacuum lines on the firewall near the distributor.
My blower started working better after I fixed a vacuum leak there.

30 amp in-line fuse/holder under hood next to brake master cylinder.

Don't know on the 70, but on my 76 I had to replace the high speed fan relay . . . the silver rectangular box mounted on the firewall that the red arrow points to. Got a replacement at O'Reillys

Redman, this is off topic (sorry) but do you have a fan clutch with that flex fan or is it driven directly off the water pump with a spacer?

Assuming you already checked the 30 amp fuse the 7T1vette mentioned above, check the spade contacts on your relay. If rusty clean with sandpaper. If it still doesn't work the relay may be bad.

Your relay is located on the front of the blower housing. It has a black cover and has 5 spade connectors on it, three are in one plastic female connector and the other two are in separate single female connectors.

White in-line (bayonet type) fuse holder with orange wire going IN and red wire coming OUT. It is laying on the left front wheel well inner liner and next to the brake master cylinder. You need a photo?

Just a spacer. I know the fan clutch was an integral part of the design and helps performance, but I hate the sound of the fan winding down AFTER the engine RPMs drop.

I believe the relay is in the same place on all of the early C3's.

I had the same problem on my 68 and it was the resistance unit that most are referring to as a relay and that Redman 76 indicates with the orange arrow.
I replaced it and all was well again; it had burned out.
Redman76, nice engine compartment; you could eat off that engine.
Very Nice

Ok thank you one of the connectors is broken and a little rusty. I will
take it apart and clean it and see what happens.

Is yours an AC car or non-AC? If it's non-AC there won't be a relay.
