I'm starting to see a trend here. Some of the older guys also have a C4. Maybe that's why I've been looking through the local ads for C4's lately? Is this stuff catchy? Looking like you can get into a nice C4 for not much money right now.
I bought my first Vette, a '69 350/350 Coupe for $2,800 when I was 23, sold it a year later for $3,400 and bought my 27,000 mile '71 LS5 Convertible for $4,500 in 1975.
So, I'm 58 and have owned my 38 year old '71 for 34 years (now with 55,000 mi.).
Gee, I hope I can get my $4,500 back!
Even in this economy you have to feel good about what you have there. Let me know when you are ready, I got your $4,500 right here. Seriously, beautiful car, love the color.
Enjoy the ride...

I'm 55.
I have two 1977's, making them both 32.
I started much too late in this love affair but have been totally hooked.
Start young and enjoy the cars, they are a joy to own and drive.

My corvette was built Jan 23, 76 I was "built" Feb 24 1958. So it is 32 and I am 51
I'm not sure when I was built but I know when they delivered me.
Never asked my parents when they built me, lost opportunity now, but would have been a great conversation starter...

I bought my 68 in 1972 and still have it.
Just finished completely restoring it to factory new original 2 years ago and will never sell it.
My son will get it when I kick the bucket

You're right, I always wanted a second Vette, wanted a C4 or C5. The C5 was a nice ride, very powerful but a little too refined, felt like a fast used car to me. The C4 still feels like a Vette, much more power than my 81 and you can really feel the road. Plus, you can steal them now. I bought this 1993 last fall with 91K miles and it is absolutely immaculate. I even had the PO put on a new set of tires first. I stalked the car from the first time I saw it for sale in the Spring and as the economy got worse and he got closer to winter his price kept coming down. He start at $9,500 and I ended up getting it for $6,250 and I have since seen better deals. They are a nice compliment to the C3. FYI, a fellow Mainer here, from Cape Elizabeth....
I have two vettes. The 68 is 41 and my 76 is 33 years old. I myself am 17 but I bought them both when I was 16. One even before I had my license. My parents do not believe in giving out any financial aid ever so everything here was bought with my own money including the gas it took to drive to Ohio and china grove, NC. Well worth every penny

Now, that's one happy looking kid. Ambitious, too!
My first Corvette was a 1965 Roadster that I bought in 1981 for $5600 when I was 26 and the car was 16.
Sold it in 1986 and drove Trans Ams until 2000 when I traded for a 00 coupe at the age of 45. Traded that one in 02 for an 02 vert with .2 miles on the clock at the ripe old age of 47.
Then in 06 I traded the 02 vert for a 1972 LS-5 Coupe when I was 51 and the car was 34.
So, I was fairly young when I got the first one. Then as I got older the cars got younger until I finally realized I needed something more in keeping with my status as a senior citizen. A big block Corvette fit the bill just right!
im 27 and i have a 76 (33yrs old) ive wanted a c3 since i was old enough to hold a hotwheels. put a lambo in front of me and im still taking my stingray everytime!

If you ever want a new dad let me know. I have never been able to get my kid ( 41 years old ) interested in vettes. He's always been interested in Martial Arts. I guess he's more interested in kicking a** than fixing glass.

'76 corvette' restores my faith in young men. I really got a kick out of seeing his post. My dad had a paint and body shop so I was around cars all the time, but he didn't want me to get into the car business. But, as they say, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree and I love to work on cars. I've painted several cars and still like to work on them.
In my neighborhood I'm probably the only one that does any kind of car repairs, maintain my own yard, and do home repairs. The kids around here do nothing but play computer games I guess, they wouldn't even know how to push a lawn mower much less hand me a 5/8 1/2" drive socket.
Have a good life 76 corvette....I'm sure there will be a demand for your talents in the very near future. oops, you're too young to drink.
