Default Reveal Moulding clips?

What are they and do I need them on a coupe? I have looked at the windshield install photos posted here but is a coupe the same as the vert in the photos.

Hi Skip
Yes, a coupe uses the clips too.
The clips mount the long, thin, SS trim piece that is on the windshield header right at the glass. The # of clips vary from year to year. Often there are 6.
You have to be very careful taking them off or on if the windshield is in place. The screwdriver can nick the edge of the glass and cause a crack.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan when I got the car the top of the w/s frame was totally rotted and the clips were missing, I had to replace the top and corners of the frame and now I am getting ready to install the w/s so there are no holes or anything to go by. I got all of the w/s trim in a cardboard box so I am having to figure this one out as I go so any help is GREATLY appreciated. I don`t want to tear into my 72 just to see how it goes togther it isn`t damaged.

Since they are covered by the strip, where you put them really doesn't matter a whole lot. Use your corners as a guide as they hold the ends in place (you won't need them there).

Here is what I have to go back with. I have 2 cast corner caps, I have a big t shaped center piece and 2 pieces that look like they go back to back that hold the window channel and the other piece wraps over the side of the windshiled but nothing that goes around the top of the w/s unless the t shaped top piece is it. What do the clips do?Thanks for the help again guys

It sounds like I may be missing the thin top strip am I right

It does matter were you put the clips.
They must be placed so they occur in the gaps in the lip on the large upper piece of SS header trim AND where the smaller SS piece has the tabs that go behind the clips.

Thanks Alan I found the small strip that goes across the top and now I understand how it goes. I will temporarily install the t top trim piece and then check the small strip and put the clips on the new top frame so that they will hold the top strip down. Is that correct?
