Sandy,
We in Canada are being hit as well, with shipping charges and duties.
On large orders (about $100US) I can add about 30% extra for these charges. Small orders (about $50US) are about 100%. I only get small orders if I run into a part that needs to be changed that will hold up that particular assembly. Otherwise I add it to a list until the list gets large. If I can wait even longer, I'll travel to the US for other reasons and buy them on site and bring accross the border under my personal exemption.

I sell a lot on ebay and have had a lot of experience selling to Canada (hockey memorabilia) and not only are the customs and shipping charges just oppressive, it seems buyers there are less understanding of their own system these days.

In the past, they all knew there were additional Canada Customs charges and I didnt really have to discuss it. In the last week or 2 Ive had 3 different buyers on ebay throw a fit over Canadian extra charges and thinking that I was somehow going to pay for it.

I have 20 auctions going on right now and Ive had to go in and eliminate sales to Canada from now on. Its unfortunate but its not worth the aggravation. I did have a guy really want some Corvette parts but I made him agree in an email that he understood the charges and not give me any grief.

vettebuyer i am Canadian and i do understand the the problems you are having shipping up here but don't right us off because of a few individuals, one thing that makes a big difference is who you are using for shipping if you use USPS it does not hit use so bad, but U.P.S. for a 20$ part there brokerage fee is 30$ and we cant get the parts up here. we love are vettes just as much as you and if you all stop shipping parts to us are cars will sit and rot , now that would be a shame for all of us..... no disrespect meant.

I prefer to ship US Post, but unfortunately some items that require a larger box are not accepted from Postal, and I am forced to use UPS. I don't like it either.

I'm picking and choosing who I send to in Canada, as they have to acknowledge the problems and agree to not try to threaten feedback issues against me when they get their brokerage bills.
