The heat shields are from Cobrastuff. They attach with 2 stainless straps. They work very well.

Heat shield also looks great. I have been looking at several and this is what I like. Would you remember what brand the are?
I have been wanting to install a set of headers for a while and I am now considering the side pipes. Right now I don't even have true duals, still have the cat. The only concern I have with the side pipes is that the noise would be too noisy and leg burns. Both the concerns are for my passengers, mainly my wife. I don't won't something to where you can't even have a conversation. Does your shields actually help with the legs??
Anyhow, your car looks great.

Is your side pipes chrome, stainless, or ceramic? They look like they may be ceramic. Whatever they are, how has the finish held up for you? What have you had to do for maintenance?

Please excuse my ignorance. I'm trying to learn about these. Buying the headers from JetHot are still hookers headers but the ceramic coating is put on buy a different company, and better? What problems could you have with ceramic versus S.S.?

As to any problems with ceramic verses S.S. I'd say the ceramic isn't as shiny as either S.S. or chrome but will outlast chrome but not outlast S.S.
Ceramic will be cooler to the touch though.

I think the Ceramic might go better with the original aluminum rims. ??
Any idea how long they may last without problems, and what type of problems would they be? It would seem that the S.S would almost last forever, unless a weld broke or something.
Thanks,

The Hooker side pipes sound pretty mellow and not realy that loud with the mufflers in.
The shields we made were paterned off what you see in this May 1969 Motorcade magazine. I got this magazine when I was 14 years old and just loved those shields. They're plain and simple, like what's pictured in the magazine.

I have the STS baffles which make excellent power. Other people like the Sweet Thunder or Max Flow inserts.

Yep, we know what mufflers are in there (we put them on). We're not too interested in power and speed. There's always some one faster. Our goal with his 77 was reliability, looking good and looking fast even though it's not. It's the base engine with 190 hp is all.
