Let me start by saying I have a 79 L-82 with 308 gears I am putting a 700R4 transmision in next week it has a edelbrock performer and a edelbrock carb, other wise stock with about 53k miles on it. Is any body running a set up close to mine, if so what kind of gas mileage are you getting? I know the gears were 355s I changed those a few years back but with the TH 350 transmision in it my last tank was 12.1 MPG. I just cant afford to drive it as much as I want to and it needs another gear to make it more livable on the highway. I just need to get an idea of what I should expect to get . Thanks for the Input.
