Default How do you replace inner fenders?

I went to look at an 81 today with a friend, for him. Both inner front fenders had been removed at some point. They appear to have been sawed just above the frame on the bottom and I didn't see any part of them under the fenders. Anybody know what is involved in correcting this back to original type condition?

Is it possible the car has a one piece front end on it? I believe the one piece front clips don't come with inner fenders so perhaps they were never installed. How is the core-support installed if there are no inner fenders?
Regards,
Alan

No, the fenders and hood appear to be the originals. I think the radiator support is bolted to part of the inner fenders that is still there. They were not removed entirely, just cut down to near the frame. Strange.

Hi BK Looked at my 81 for comparison reasons today. There is not much inner fender down there. I guess with so many components removed gives it that really empty look. With a little brain storming this problem can be resolved!!!! Thanks again for all your help. Will be in touch. Karl

Karl - It seems like nobody has much experience with this. Keep me posted.

That depends. 80-82 inner fender skirts were reshaped for the new front bumper. What you see may be all there is.

Post a pic of what you found.

Sorry, I don't have any pics.
Those Eckler's inner fenders are $368 each and look like quite a project to install.
Thanks for the info.
