Got my '79 painted :) [pics]
nope. i was gonna go with victory red but victory red is alot more blueish (first coat of victory red is almost a marroonish color i wanna say) victory gets more red with every coat, this color stays the same through all coats.
finally got to it after 5 months of restoring it on and off... i wont overload you guys with pictures mostly since i dont have too many yet, i just peaked in there after i got off my first job and heading to my side job
it looks a bit orange in the pictures, its really just BRIGHT red
ill try snap some photos later on without flash and post more pictures once everything is back on
anyways, thanks to all for peeking in
ill add/edit this post sometime at the end of the week (weekend maybe), till then, im stayin busy, leave the house at 6:30 am coming home at 9-10 pm
now comes the fun part, putting on the trim and tightening the doors/hood to make the seams perfect

and dont worry about the floor in the paint booth xD im gonna paint it for him with some epoxy or something, anyone got any good paint for an area thats always wet? (you gotta spray everything down before painting so that theres no dust)
edit: and NO its not torch red
i wont tell you guys what color it is yet
i wanna see the comments first
i think today (friday) ill be taking her home to work on her the rest of the way in the garage
(i dont want it sitting at the shop, people coming touching it and leaving scratches on my new paint job
)
painted the headlight covers glossy black

headlights down:

Dirty car still... need to wash it

glossy black rockers as well:

left to do today, put in the front grilles, drop in seats, put in the side marker lamps (front and back) and the tail lights and throw the carpets inside and head home to work on it there later

(ooh btw, the front spoiler is on as well
)

Good looking paint for sure...Don't forget to black out the bumper trim on both sides of the license plate area...(bumperettes?). I see that overlooked on a lot of paint jobs. Unless, of course...you prefer them like that...your car, your call.

ill be addressing the ride height when i change suspension. i think this car probably has stock suspension on it still... i dont want to cut the springs or whatever, we'll see once the car is all together what ill do about the ridre height. i personally like low riding cars w/ stiff suspension. makes taking turns more fun
so far, i've put in...

-Changed the carpets (tore out the old tan ones put in new black ones, $350)
-changed the armrests (door panel arm rests and center arm rest, ~$60)

-Changing the battery compartment doors (in progress)
-Changed the Gauge lighting, see profile pic (cost me about $30 + 4 hours of work)
