With the base cost of $460 plus the relay rod at $190, totaling $650 it is just less than half the price of a new rack & pinion system kit. Am curious how it compares in feel to a r&p system.
I completely replaced my CV system which solved the leak issue and did help the steering, but it is still too loose at the top/neutral for my liking.
If this gives r&p feel and control for half the price, it can't be a bad thing.
I was at the Hot Rod and Restoration show in Indy today and talked to the Borgeson rep that had a new Corvette conversion PS box on display. It looks like the one Eckler lists.
He said that it is a Remanufactured Delphi 600 PS Box that came out in 2000 and I think he said it was from a truck. According to the rep it is a 12.7:1 ratio and is variable so normal driving it isn't darty, but when parking it is 3 turns lock to lock. They cut new splines on it that will fit the Corvette pitman arm.
You have to shorten the steering shaft a little like you have to do with the Concept One box. He indicated they have installed it on big and small block mid-years and shark cars.
I'm thinking of one for my daughter's 72 LT-1.
I agree on wanting Jim Shea's take on it.

As I understand it, you collapse the steering shaft by 2 inches. They guy said that there is a 6 inch normal collapse in stock form so you have 4 inches left. It sure looks like the Jeep box to me.

So why not just remove the valve and cylinder, install the new box and off down the road, leave the threaded end of the existing rod there or cut it off?
Some difference in the distances on the connection points for the rod and steering arm?

I think you can remove the valve body and block the ball, as in the Corvette Steering swap, so no need for a manual rod.
If they are made by Borgeson they should be good......
