Not available in any capacity, known as a bezel, if it's the piece that is in the panel behind your head. I have 3 NOS ones, if interested, write me...........Bruce

I am interested, the vent I have is cracked. Is there a reason it isn't available in stores? Is it not a stock option in the car? Thanks

Stores?!?!?! KMart and Target don't have it, and Advance Auto sure as hell doesn't!!!
Seriously, it was an option on the Vettes in certain years, and replacement parts generally are produced and available for 10 yrs after production year, SO-----------that bezel has not been available for a while. They all crack at the corners where the trim screw is. No longer available from GM and no one repros it, it is a very hard to find bezel. Like I said, I have 2 cars with the defrost option, so I needed to find bezels, and I have 3 NOS bezels and 1 complete NOS rear defroster setup for a coupe. 150$ for the bezel or 2500$ for the complete setup, switch to bezel.

Do your rear vents on the rear deck function ? Or are the just for looks ? mine aren't cut out . They just have the grills over them.
I've heard only the '75 convertible had functioning vents ?

On my 74 t Top w/A/c I have the same non functional vents, I think they were for non A/C cars with Astro ventalation, maybe someone else can say for sure. PG.

Actually NO!!!! If you look in the owners manual, there should be a drawing of how the "Astro-Ventilation" system works, air enters the cab through the ball vents and flows through and out the rear deck vents. So, to answer an earlier question, my 69 has functional rear vents and my 75 coupe doesn't, they are solid under the grilles.

Hey Bruce,
Thank you. Does your '75 have a blower motor on the
rear defrost ? The switch is missing from lower left
console (have the cutout) but my blower does work ,just
need to find the correct wires to plug it in.

jsholm2 I don't know how original your car is. If it were me I would re-fiberglass the original plastic one and with some work it would look stock.

Default Corvette defroster bezel

Hi, I need a rear defroster bezel/grill for my 1973 Corvette. I noticed on the forum someone named Bruce said he had 3 NOS bezels. Do you still have them? Thanks. Linda

Astro ventilation was not needed on A/C cars, so the rear vents were blocked off. My '75 A/C car was this way it was a real pain to wash the exterior and try to get all the water out of the "vents" (grills).

Bruce - I am guessing your '69 in non-A/C, and your '75 is A/C.

Actually both cars are A/C, the 75 I had had blacked out solid area under deck grilles (Assumed factory). My 69 has a/c, and does not have the functional flaps under the rear deck, from all parts available aftermarket the non ac cars had vacuum operated flaps for the vent system. My rear deck is open under the grilles and there are drain tubes to the wheel wells. Dr Rebuild lists gasket kits for those vents inside under the rear deck, and the AC car just seals an empty area where the vents should be.

If you click on someone’s name you can see the last time they were active on the forum.
