After the screws are removed get a paint stirring paddle and a hammer use that to knock them off there weren't replacement's for a long time that I could find, but i saw a ad for Bairs that had them listed last year Go slow and be careful
The very front stainless piece is crimped on, you just remove it carefully and slowly as to not distort it or bend it. The small joint piece has a rivet that must be drilled. The side piece has 3 screws under the weatherstripping and also 3 rivets to drill out and then remove.
Skip, my 70 tops never had the edge trim and it took me a couple years to find the curved front pieces.. I'm ready to install mine so It would be helpful if someone could tell me a bit more about the rivets. How many are there and where do they need to be. Not having a reference of taking the edges off, I don't have a good visual. So I'm going in blind. I plan to use 3M strip chaulk to tack them down and replace my weather stripping.

I can take a look at my 72 and let you know, I am getting the tops for the 73 ready to paint now, I got sidetracked and had to build a 4.3 V-6 for one of my trucks ( it went 318,000) but I will be getting back on them in the next few days.
If you look at the front curved piece on the bottom where there is a rubber strip attached, you will see small stake marks every couple of inches, look inside the metal channel and you'll see that the metal is raised into this channel, this piece just slides over the front edge and is held on by the crimp. Use a soft hard rubber mallet to gently tap this trim into place. The other large long trim piece mounts over the side window position and is attached with 3 rivets and 3 screws that also go thru the weatherstripping. The small stainless piece is a joint between the front and side stainless trim. It should have a slight edge to fit flush against the other pieces and uses 1 rivet for attachement.
That is an excellent description ... most helpful. I have a good idea how it goes back together now. Are the rivets a particular size or lenght? Thanks
Thanks.. I'll go hunting. One question I should have thought of, are the rivets attached to the metal piece that the weatherstrip is attached or is it fastened to the fiberglass top? It looks like these flat rivets are installed with a special tool so you need access to both sides of the rivet. just need to know if I need to order a special tool for 3/16 inch rivets. My trim wasn't on my 70and page F31 of my 70 assembly manual is washed out so I can't see the drawing very well. Can anyone email me that page if you have it... ( roof panel weatherstrips)
I was going to use part number 603106 1968-1977 T-TOP SIDE OUTER MOULDING RIVET KIT - 10 PIECES from Corvette Central... These look like typical rivets I am use to.

Reason: another question
no, its not just glued in, i peaked at mine and there are a couple screws, but then again, mines a 79. yours might be different
This was the same as with my 79, but my trim is semi flat black trim. Just be careful and move slowly. After twenty some odd years, nothing wants to come off too easily !
Yes thanks ... looks exactly like the 70. I'll print and keep in my book. Going to order the pop rivets from Corvette Central... thanks eveyone for the help
