In regards to this thread, here are some pictures I took this morning and promised to post. Dont let the pictures fool you, it needs alot of work but at least its solid.
You did GREAT! Perfect time with spring here. Since it sat the first thing besides replacing the gas is make sure the brake calipers are not leaking. Safety first.
How's the interior? Post some pics.
Congrats!
Glenn
Congratulations on what looks to be a really nice 68.
You say it needs work, (?) but it looks pretty awesome from the pictures.
I say you got one heck of a good deal.
Enjoy it and have fun with it .

68 T-Top
Here's some interior shots.. The body is very rough with major waves, updings, orange peal and it looks like someone painted the door jams with a rattle can.. I'm just glad there is no major rust.. The motor is a fresh rebuild and doesnt even have any break-in time on it.. They had to rig a temporary fuel line just so they could show me it runs and its has open headers with no exhaust.. There are alot of fliud leaks, mainly in the hoses, which can be fixed.. It needs alot of little things fixed but I dont see anything major at this point. It wouldnt take much to make it at least drivable..
Looks good for a starter vette. As you mentioned, all the little hose leaks
can be sorted out and fixed over time. Enjoy the car. As you may or may not know, the '68's have a lot of 1 year only parts and at first glance, it appears you have most of them. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions as you start fixing things on the car.
2 lines from tank, one to carb the other is open and needs to be plugged. They said he pulled the orginal motor and put a big bock in while he rebuilt the orginal 327 and then re-installed the 327 but passed away before he finished it.
Fishndude,
Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions as you start fixing things on the car.
I already have one question and I'm sure a gazzilion to follow..
The wheels are 15x8 Cragars and have spacers behind them, is this common? I see without the spacers the wheels would rub on the calipers.. I want to keep the Cragars but replace the back tires with 275-60-15 and the fronts with 245/60-15..
