Oil pressure problem
Hi Guys,
Need your help ! I changed my oil pressure gauge on my '69 coupe, but now at idle its showing the needle right off the chart. Does the oil line have to be purged before reconnecting it to the new gauge? Is there maybe air in the line, & if so can it be fixed without disconnecting all that allover again? If anyone has any advise, I would like to know.
Thanks

If that box also says "Made in China", that is likely your problem.

Have you let the engine fully warm up?
The high pressure and/or high volume oil pumps will peg the gauge on cold startup
but should settle down to 30 or so after warm up.
If it still stays pegged, then gauge is bad and must be changed or you have
a stuck oil pump pressure relief valve and really do have high pressure.
Maybe should verify the pressure with another mechanical gauge.
