I put 10" bolts on my 1969 to lower the stance(I had about 6" above the tire to the wheel well)and the stance is great now, but the tires are very, very close to the spring and I think it is unsafe.1 may even just be touching!
What are my options?
Can I use a thin spacer? And if so where can I buy them?
Thanks in advance.
Sly
Not sure on the spring manufacturer but it is a composite type single leaf.
Are your wheels 15 inch OEM with 4 inch backspacing?
I've got a new 9leaf steel spring from Mid America with 8inch bolts and 15x8 TTIIs with 3.75BS and I still only have 1/2 inch clearance. I want to go with 10 inch to lower more, but Im thinking its just too close.
Just saying that the spring namebrand-type is not the issue as they all will be like this. Some people get a 1 inch shortened spring to compensate in this area from VBP or Van Steel or others maybe.

Post pics of your set-up.
I have stock rally wheels with the standard offset. Pics to follow.
Can I shave some of the spring on the ends? Back to the metal plate where the bolt goes through?
