Default Rear leaf spring replacement.

My 69 BB is a tail dragger. If I hit a fair sized irregularity in the road surface it will bottom and drag the underside of the car. I replaced the stock type shocks a couple of years ago with KYB Gas-A-Justs and that helped, but it still drags its butt on any kind of a bump. It's really unnerving at high speed. Are there any good tutorials on R&R ing the rear spring? Is it as straight forward as it looks?

These posts had some tips.

Also be careful when reinstalling the spring/diff mounting bolts.

They are a specific length. If Bubba got in there with longer bolts and

they get put in the front position, they will bust through the rear cover and

cause a rear end leak.

Found the lengths in another post,

Those 4 bolts should be 9/16"-12 x 3 1/8". The rear 2 can be a little long, the front 2 can't be.

Also try to get the full weight of the car is compressing the spring before making

the final tightening of the bolts. Wouldn't hurt to recheck the torque again

after driving a bit.
