Tranny ID and partial Vin

I'm crawling all over the floor under the car and searching in the forum but I can't find this exact location. Where is the partial VIN # and tranny number located on a 1978 transmission (automatic)?

I'm feeling totally stupid here. :o I have a mirror and flashlight on that side wall of the tranny and don't see anything except a blank sidewall of the tranny, the linkage and boot cover. Are the numbers (font size) smaller than the numbers on the engine???? They look kind of small and blurry in your pic to make out a number.

Btw, thanks for the pic on the frame's VIN - found it and VIN checks out ok.

If it's NOT there, check the pass side but forward of the pan along the bottom side edge maybe 6" or so from the motor.
I have a diagram I'll try to find.
