I have got just about done with the interior on my 72 and thought I would share a few pics. of the low point of the interior and the progress so far.
I had it running this evening to check out whats been done so far and everything works imagine that. The am/fm stereo radio even works now after I found a good main unit at Carlsile, the only way I knew it had a stereo radio was both pieces were left behind the rt. lower dash panel.
I am not very happy with the pass. side carpet though, it looks like a piece was taken out of the carpet when the floor board has a hump for the trans. modulator. I don't know if this is a common problem if you have an auto or not. The carpet came from Al Knoch.

I plan on mentioning this to the at corvette expo in Tn. in a couple of weeks.
Nice job on your interior.
I wouldn't wait ... I'd call Al Knoch right away and have pics available to send to them that show where the carpet problem is ... and in the conversation I'd mention that you will stop by to see them at the Expo. Perhaps they will agree to bring a replacement piece with them for you to the Expo.

Good luck.
Thanks for the compliments.
I went ahead and emailed them and sent a pic., now I'll wait and see.
If I can't get anything resolved it just may stay in the car and be a big topic of conversation.
I went ahead and called Al Knoch and they are going to send one on the truck coming to the corvette expo and I am going to bring the pass. side with me and were going to figure out if it is my fault or there's and go from there.
Update on the pass. carpet. I went to the expo today and Al Knoch himself looked at it and came to the same conclusion I had. Someone glued the jute on with wrinkles in the carpet. He asked if I wanted to help him try and straighten it out there, I told him yes.
He used a heat gun and started getting the wrinkles out and at the same time started telling me about having to do the crap jobs and about everything in between and he could not beleive someone would let a carpet go out like it was. He was not a happy camper.
Well it looks like the wrinkles are out he gave me some new jute and told me to glue the jute down first and reinstall the carpet and give it a try. He also took a small sample and told me if I was still unhappy with it to call them and they would make me a new one and send it to me.
I have always heard he wants people to be 100% happy with his product and I became a true beleiver in that statement today.
Well I reinstalled my carpet on the pass. side and it still has problems, not quite as bad as before but is still messed up.
I am going to have to call them and get them to make a new
one.
Well at least I know now they will make me a new one at no cost to me, but it is getting old messing with the same problem.
